Moontime Maternity Pad

Moontimes' maternity pad is uniquely designed and shaped for women who have just given birth. It is highly absorbent and can also be used as an overnight pad for women who bleed heavily and need extra protection.

Each pad consists of 4 layers of 100% cotton Shweshwe fabric, 1 layer of 4-5ml towelling, 1 layer of breathable leakproof material and 2 quality press studs. It effortlessly folds around your underwear and effectively stays in place.

Moontimes high-quality reusable sanitary pads are made from 100% cotton Shweshwe and natural materials. They are free from harsh chemicals, plastics, glues, synthetic fibres and bleaches which lowers the risk of rashes, irritation and infection. Using natural sanitary products helps your body find its innate rhythm and can reduce menstrual pain and discomfort.

For the environment

On average a woman will use 14 500 disposable pads and tampons throwing away 150-200 kgs of menstrual product waste in her lifetime which end up in landfills and our natural habitats. Disposable pads are toxic to the environment and take 500-800 years to decompose - there is no longer space on our precious earth to hold them.

A woman can spend approximately R36 000 on disposable sanitary products in her lifetime. The initial outlay for reusable sanitary pads is more than disposables but they will last for many years which means huge savings - making it a long-term investment... and no last minute trips to the shop to get pads.

Caring for your MoonTime Pads.

• • Soak in a bucket of cold water (hot water sets blood) with essential oil or lemon.
  • Hand wash with a natural, un-fragranced soap, rinse and hang to dry.
  • If you can’t wash your pad immediately – rinse after use (don’t let blood dry out), fold, clip and put in a wet bag until you can wash it.
  • Machine washable – on a delicate cycle with biodegradable detergent.
  • Do not tumble dry, bleach or iron.
  • Ensure pads are fully dried before storing.

Although our pads have been pre-washed, we recommend that you wash them again before first use.

With gentle care, your MoonTime pads will last for many years.
